ABOUT - Nicole Schultz

Nicole Schultz is a graduate of Western University's Fine Arts Honours Program, with a specialization in Studio Art Making. A full-time artist, business owner, custom framer and writer, Nicole works in various mediums including acrylic, ink, and mixed media with a signature minimalist aesthetic that connects all of her work. Whether in bold hard edge paintings that become framed sculpture or fluid single line ink drawings, Nicole's work channels emotion, nostalgia, dreams and mysticism with a sharp clean style that is recognizably hers. Her recent work is inspired by complex colour relationships and flat bold interactions of shape and design that create a futuristic-retro aesthetic, with poetic hints of story telling in each piece.

Nicole is represented by The Benz Gallery and is owner/director of Lemonade Frame Studio. Nicole's work is in collections around the globe, with commissioned pieces made for promotional labels, music artists and regional city projects, with written work published in Canada and the US. Known more recently for her Fractured Frame series, these unique bright bold wall constructions challenge conventions and showcase her craftsmanship - with an edge, and her love of both framing and painting mediums.
